AU The following document is designed to help parents and teachers follow along on their child’s decodable reading journey. Each step of the Beanstalk Books Phonics progression has aligned titles mapped out for ease of access, all you have to do is check the set the title is from and select the reader according to the sound being taught.
Decodable readers provide children text-based context for practising their emerging reading skills. Every story in both fiction and non-fiction ranges has been written with a strictly controlled text. Children are only exposed to words and text that is decodable (can be sounded out), based on the letter-to-sound correspondences already learned. Each series of books follows children week-by-week through the Rainbow Phonics programme, and this document can also be used as a guide for aligning book titles with other reading programmes.
Each book cover is colour-coded to the phonics phase topic it covers, allowing for quick reference.
